Interviewing actress Justine Chantry

1.-How was your childhood?
It's a special question, and for me, it's an intimate one. Today, I'm very close to my inner child, and I try to put a lot of joy into my adult life to always honor the little girl I was.
2.-From what age did you decide to be an actress and how did you know you had theskills to go on TV?
I had various professional experiences before becoming an actress. I went to drama school when I was 27. And to answer your question, I knew I had the skills when I was selected during my castings and I was able to demonstrate my professionalism on the sets. This job demands a great deal of rigor and respect, because there are so many professions working together on the same set to make the film happen.
3.-Did your parents support you in the decision you made to be an actress?
The good thing is that I started acting when I was already a mom myself :) . I'm a free spirit and I've always chosen my own path. My parents are proud of my career and that means a lot to me.
4.-What was your first appearance on the screens?
My first appearances were in short films, and my first TV appearance was in the pilot of a series on France's first broadcasting channel
5.-What was the role you, liked the most?
The most interesting role to play was in the theater. The feeling of embodying my character even more deeply, performance after performance, is a real pleasure for an actor.
6.-What do you think led you to fame?
I don't feel famous. I do my work with passion, and the most important thing for me is to be able to make a living from this passion so that I can continue to share my emotions with the public.
7.-What types of character s you would like to interpret?
My dream would be to act in a biopic, to play characters who really existed. Or a role as a strong woman, although women are always strong ;) What I mean is that I like to play ambivalence, an example being the character played by Rosamund Pike in David Fincher's Gone Girl.
8.-Which actresses and actors do you feel comfortable working with?
I like working with people who are generous with their partners. People who understand that if they put others in the spotlight, they'll be in the spotlight too.
Most of all, I like to laugh. In my opinion, good humor and hard work are a perfect combination.
9-What other kinds of art would you like to do?
I'd really like to work on singing. It's something I've started doing, and it's helped me a lot technically for theater: breathing correctly on stage, being heard without forcing your voice... I like to learn new things to improve my instrument
10.-Do you have any anecdotes that have marked you in your life and as a person?
Of course I have many, but if I had to choose one for this interview, it would be my meeting with Robert Hossein. Two years before his death, he was the catalyst I needed to launch my career. After talking to him, I enrolled in drama school (a desire I'd been keeping quiet about). I’m convinced that there are encounters destined.
11.-What has been your greatest achievement?
Overcoming my fears and following my heart in everything I do.
12.-What projects will you make next and witch one do you have in mind?
I continue to work in theater, cinema and television. I’m currently writing for a new project !
13-Would you like to make a movie in Spain?
I’d love to, it’s a country I know well but very little about its cinema.
