Interviewing actress Anne-Marie Willis

How was your childhood ?

I would describe my childhood as difficult, I struggled to fit in, having autism and adhd certainly had a huge impact on my ability to fit into the crowd so to speak, I was very bright, hyperactive and vocal. I always knew I was different but could not quite put my finger on it, until receiving diagnosis into adulthood. Being neurodivergent I find has helped me shape who I am today and helps me to think outside the box so to speak. Despite facing many challenges it was also a gift, which I did not quite understand till adulthood

At what age ….
I was very young when i realised that I wanted to be a performer, I started in dance school from a young age where I performed some lives performances, from there I studied BTEC national diploma for performing arts in college, where I did several stage productions, I also worked as a ring girl at boxing events, and danced in clubs around the uk, from then on I have worked with sammie lei productions for around 8Years now.

What was the role you liked the most 
To be honest as much as I love theatre and live performances I feel that film work is definitely what I love to do most, I love the energy, the team work, and seeing things come to life. It inspires me to challenge myself, and taking on a different character is a great way to express yourself and escape your own life at times. My current role playing Tia Donovan, on the movie narc has to be the best role to date, it is very hard hitting, and being able to express real raw emotion through film work is something I feel comfortable to do.

What do you think led you to fame? 

This is a great question. For me I would say that drive and determination to peruse what makes you happy is always worth doing, whether that brings fame, awareness or making great friendships, networks, and life experiences, I’m doing what I love to do, for no purpose other than to be true to myself. Whether that brings fame or not I am very privileged to have worked with some very talented people, and have formed some very good connections and good memories that I cherish.

What types of characters would you like to interpret? 

I like a wide range of characters and am not limited to a specific characteristic.

What actors/ actresses do you feel comfortable working with and why? 

I like to work with those who are ambitious, determined, and passionate, whether or not they have much previous Experiance is not essential for me personally, as long as they are a team player, and are committed to there role.

I have faced many challenges over the years in my personal life. All which fuel the fire and drive to continue doing what I love, I love to turn any pain into art, that’s the beauty of it.

Greatest achievement 
I think the films published on Amazon is something to be quite proud of, I’m hoping that the current film narc, which is raising awareness to domestic abuse will actually help people to be aware of the traits and the red flags and if this film can help at least one person, I will be extremely humbled by that.

What projects will you make next?
 
My producer and film director Sammie lei has some extremely amazing ideas for future productions, no one knows what’s round the corner, but I know my journey so far in this industry is only the start of much more to come.

Would I do a movie in Spain? 

Absolutely, I love Spain, I visit regularly, there has been talks with my producer of this possibility.

1-. How was your childhood? My childhood was a whole journey on its own. A big rollercoaster with big highs and very low lows. When I was born I used to live with my mum, my grandparents, my aunt, and my uncle. And honestly, it was the best period of my childhood. I have fond memories that helped me build amazing relationships with my family. I was the only great-grandchild who met my great-grandmother and I love to be that one.
