Interviewing actress Laura Bertram
1-. How was your childhood?
My childhood was good, I was a dancer in ballet before I decided to become an actress and I had 2 good parents and siblings that supported me in my decisions and helped take care of me.
2. - From what age did you decide to be an actress and how did you know you had the skills to go on TV?
When I was 10 I got an agent and decided to try acting, I got my first audition in 1991 and got it, it was a short film that turned into a show called Ready or Not.
3. - Did your parents support you in the decision you made to be an actress?
Yes they did even though both of them were teachers.
4. - What was your first appearance on the screens?
My first appearance on tv was The Tale of the Lonely Ghost which showed on tv in 1992, Ready or Not did not come to the tv screens until 1993.
5. - What was the role you liked the most?
I liked some of my roles a lot, but I think the role of Amanda Zimm in Ready or Not was good for me because it made me act differently than my real life and I went through different experiences.
6.- What do you think led you to fame?
I think the show Ready or Not led me to fame because after one season people knew who I was and were asking for my autograph already from other states and countries even, it was different but exciting too.
7-. What types of characters would you like to interpret?
I would like to play someone evil just to play something different then my usual characters or maybe play a preacher or something like that to show off more of my acting skills.
8-. What actresses and actors do you feel comfortable working with?
I feel comfortable working with Jewel Staite because of our longtime friendship and I was comfortable working with the Ready or Not cast because they were all nice and the Andromeda cast were nice and cool to work with too.
9-. In what other genres of art would you like to participate? (Works of theater, music, among others)
I would like to do another play someday, do more sci-fi and horror which I have not done much of and maybe voice-overs would be cool to do someday.
10.- Do you have any anecdotes that have marked you in your life and as a person?
No.
11.- What has been your greatest achievement?
I think I have a couple of different ones, acting, teaching acting and becoming a mother of 2.
12.- What projects will you make next and which ones do you have in mind?
I am doing the reboot to Ready or Not which will be out in late 2025 and I have movies and other tv shows I would like to do in the future, I would like to do more directing and behind the camera in the future.
13.- Would you like to make a movie in Spain?
Yes I would.
14.- Do you like Spanish cinema?
I have not seen much of it.
