Interview with actress Larisa Oleynik



1-. How was your childhood?

 My childhood was good, I did some acting in shows and plays and lived with my parents as an only child.


2. - From what age did you decide to be an actress and how did you know you had the skills to go on TV? 

When I was really young and  I had a good agent to help me out and introduce me to people that were casting for movies and television.


3. - Did your parents support you in the decision you made to be an actress?

Yes, my parents always supported me in my decision.

4. - What was your first appearance on the screens? 

My first acting job was a guest star in Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman as a character named Susie.

5. - What was the role you liked the most?

 I liked doing the role of Alex Mack the best because I got to meet lots of nice and cool people while I was acting and it was fun and interesting to do the stuff I had to do in the show.

6.- What do you think led you to fame?

 I think when I started out as Alex Mack it got me to be more famous than I ever imagined, I never knew that the show was going to be as popular as it was and it would last 4 seasons like it did.

7-. What types of characters would you like to interpret?

 I have played many different characters but playing a bad woman or someone that people would not expect me playing would be interesting to try.

8-. What actresses and actors do you feel comfortable working with?

 Nice ones that make me feel like we are friends other then just cast members that work together like the cast of Alex Mack, 10 Things I hate about you and 3rd Rock from the sun, I got along with all of those actors and actresses behind the scenes and was friends with them for a long time and some of them I am still in touch with today.


9-. In what other genres of art would you like to participate? (Works of theater, music, among others)

 I would like to do more theater like I did when I was very young and more horror and suspense is nice, maybe more comedy, I like working in different genres.

10.- Do you have any anecdotes that have marked you in your life and as a person? 

No 

11.- What has been your greatest achievement?

 Graduating from school and tryihng to do more in my acting career and trying to work behind the camera too.

12.- What projects will you make next and which ones do you have in mind?

 I have made a short called Pigeon and I have some movies and shows in mind that I would rather not say yet, I am into doing scripts and getting more scripts all the time, I am not working as much as I used to but I think that is okay, it takes me time to do more growing in my acting and other things I think I can do with my career in acting.

13.- Would you like to make a movie in Spain?

 I don’t know about that, I have not really been asked but I do like traveling and it would be interesting to go there.

14.- Do you like Spanish cinema? 

I have not seen much of it so I don’t really know, it is different and interesting.
