Interviewing actress Katie Victoria

How was your childhood?

My childhood presented its share of challenges, but I believe those experiences were pivotal in shaping both my character and my approach to acting. They instilled in me resilience, adaptability, and a deep appreciation for the power of storytelling as a means of connection with others.

From what age did you decide to be an actress, and how did you know you had the skills to go on TV?

I decided to pursue acting in 2016 while working backstage on a pantomime. A spontaneous moment—when a friend pulled me onstage to join in the final number— sparked my passion for the craft. It was then that I realised this was something I truly wanted to pursue professionally, and I’ve worked hard to refine my skills since.

Did your parents support you in the decision you made to be an actress?

While my decision to pursue acting was very much my own, I’ve been fortunate to receive immense support from mentors, colleagues, and friends who have guided me along the way. Their belief in me has been invaluable, helping me grow both personally and professionally.

What was your first appearance on the screens?

My first screen appearance was in Thirteenth Day of Christmas, where I portrayed Rihanna, the family liaison officer. It was an incredible experience and served as a wonderful introduction to the world of screen acting.

What was the role you liked the most?

One of my favourite roles was Michelle Dexter in First Aid. It was a deeply special experience because it allowed me to work closely with my best friend, who directed the project. The collaboration, and seeing their vision come to life, made it an unforgettable and meaningful experience.

What do you think led you to fame?

Fame, in itself, has never been a driving force for me. What truly matters is having the opportunity to pursue what I love professionally. I feel incredibly grateful for the chance to work in an industry where so many dream of making a living. I remain focused on the craft and never take this opportunity for granted.

What types of characters would you like to interpret?

I am particularly drawn to characters that are multilayered and complex—those with depth, inner conflict, and compelling arcs. I enjoy roles that challenge me to explore a wide range of human emotions and experiences, pushing me to continuously evolve as an actress.

What actresses and actors do you feel comfortable working with?

I thrive in collaborative environments with professionals who are equally passionate about their craft. A respectful, supportive on-set atmosphere is crucial to a successful production, and I appreciate working with those who bring a similar energy and dedication.

In what other genres of art would you like to participate? (Works of theatre, music, among others)

In addition to acting, I am also a poet and am currently in the process of writing my first novel. I find that engaging in various creative outlets enhances my work as an actress, allowing me to express myself in different ways and bringing a new perspective to my performances.

Do you have any anecdotes that have marked you in your life and as a person?

Turning 30 was a transformative moment in my life. I had previously felt the societal pressure to hit certain milestones, particularly as a woman. Encouraged by my friends, I decided to return to university and explore my passion for writing. This decision has been incredibly empowering and has led to a profound period of self-discovery and personal growth.

What has been your greatest achievement?

For me, turning my passion into a professional career is an achievement in itself. Each role, every performance, and every opportunity to push my boundaries is a milestone that I cherish deeply.

What projects will you make next, and which ones do you have in mind?

I have some exciting projects in the pipeline, though I’m not able to reveal too much just yet! I’m constantly seeking roles that challenge me creatively, offering opportunities to tell impactful, meaningful stories.

Would you like to make a movie in Spain?

Absolutely! Spain boasts a rich cinematic tradition, and I would be thrilled to work on a project there. It’s a country with a unique cultural and artistic identity, which would be an incredible opportunity for any actor.

Do you like Spanish cinema?

Yes, I hold Spanish cinema in high regard for its rich storytelling and emotional depth. Films like Pan’s Labyrinth and The Others have had a lasting impact on me, and I admire the artistry and intensity that defines Spanish film.
